Investment approach

Weber Capital Management is an equity investor in information technology, communications and healthcare. Our areas of interest are the same for both our public and private portfolios. Our software investments have been made in sectors such as storage, infrastructure, and business applications software. Our hardware investments have been in semiconductors and semiconductor intellectual property, and wireline and wireless communications. Healthcare investments have included vascular therapies, oncology, orthopedics, and specialty managed service organizations.

Our working knowledge of both the private and public equity markets provide us with unique information regarding growth markets, competition, comparative valuation, and expected financial performance. We leverage this information to pick the best opportunities in our areas of focus.

Weber Capital invests in small growth companies which are often overlooked or misunderstood by other investors. Our public portfolio targets companies with market capitalizations less than $500 million, that were often venture-capital backed and are trading below their IPO price. Our due diligence process is research intensive, which gives us the confidence to regularly take contrarian positions. We are patient investors with a holding period of 2-5 years.

In our venture capital portfolio, Weber Capital takes minority positions in revenue generating companies, typically investing $1-3 million. We look for companies with differentiated technology addressing growth markets.
